Re-enactment
HD video, 02'13'', 2016
Whereas the word re-enact signifies the act of building up an impression and forming a picture of a past event, it [re-enactment], whether succeeds or fails to attain its meaning, inevitably creates a “new” event. The video shows an old photograph taken in the 80s of the previous century juxtaposed with a staged scene attempting at remaking that same photograph, while standing on the very detailed gestures present in the (original) photograph. It also explicitly reveals the relationship, rather the interaction, between the photographer and the photographed subject(s), and the spectators of the photographic/shooting event.
